No tree in God’s garden could compare with it in its beauty. The cypresses could not compare with its boughs,Īnd the plane trees could not match its branches. ‘The cedars in God’s garden could not match it ‘So it was beautiful in its greatness, in the length of its branches ‘All the birds of the heavens nested in its boughs,Īnd under its branches all the beasts of the field gave birth,Īnd all great nations lived under its shade.
‘Therefore its height was loftier than all the trees of the fieldĪnd its boughs became many and its branches longīecause of many waters as it spread them out. With its rivers it continually extended all around its planting place,Īnd sent out its channels to all the trees of the field. ‘The waters made it grow, the deep made it high. With beautiful branches and forest shade, Behold, though it is planted, will it thrive? Will it not completely wither as soon as the east wind strikes it-wither on the beds where it grew?”’” It was planted in good soil beside abundant waters, that it might yield branches and bear fruit and become a splendid vine.”’ Say, ‘Thus says the Lord God, “Will it thrive? Will he not pull up its roots and cut off its fruit, so that it withers-so that all its sprouting leaves wither? And neither by great strength nor by many people can it be raised from its roots again. “But there was another great eagle with great wings and much plumage and behold, this vine bent its roots toward him and sent out its branches toward him from the beds where it was planted, that he might water it. So it became a vine and yielded shoots and sent out branches. Then it sprouted and became a low, spreading vine with its branches turned toward him, but its roots remained under it. And He spoke many things to them in parables, saying, Behold, the sower went out to sow and as he sowed, some seeds fell beside the road, and the birds came and ate them up. He placed it beside abundant waters he set it like a willow. And whose food is the root of the broom shrub.
He also took some of the seed of the land and planted it in fertile soil. He plucked off the topmost of its young twigs and brought it to a land of merchants he set it in a city of traders.
